Experience You Can Trust

I am honored to have the endorsement of longtime Hamilton County Clerk Bill Knowles.

I have dedicated the past 18 years to serving the people of Hamilton County through the Clerk’s Office. Starting as a front-line clerk and working my way up, I now serve as the Chief Deputy County Clerk and Accountant. In this role, I supervise a team of 56 employees across two locations and manage over 60 million dollars in annual revenues, ensuring our office operates efficiently, responsibly, and with integrity.

The County Clerk’s Office is the busiest office in the county, serving hundreds of citizens every week. Unlike many government offices, our traffic is not seasonal it is steady and constant all year long. The duties of the County Clerk are also broad and require a deep understanding of government operations.

The office is responsible for acting as clerk of the county legislative body, issuing motor vehicle titles and registrations, collecting privilege taxes, and overseeing the issuance of beer permits, marriage licenses, and pawnbroker licenses. These responsibilities are complex and demand steady, experienced leadership. That is why on-the-job training is critical and why my 18 years of service in the Clerk’s Office make me uniquely prepared to step into this role on day one.

I believe leadership is about more than titles; it is about service. Even though the Clerk’s Office is a government service without competition, I lead it as if citizens had multiple choices. My goal is to make sure we’d be their first choice every time.

Proven Results

Not only do I serve as Chief Deputy, but I also oversee the finances of the office. I run a lean, efficient operation and the results speak for themselves. Over the past nine years we have returned 18 million dollars in excess fees to the Hamilton County General Fund, providing direct savings to taxpayers that support schools, infrastructure, and public safety. Under my leadership, the Clerk’s Office has received a clean audit every year, a strong testament to my expertise, accountability, and commitment to doing things the right way.

Innovation and Partnerships

As your next County Clerk, I will bring a new generation of leadership that combines experience with innovation. I believe in running the Clerk’s Office as if citizens had five different options, and every time, they would choose us. That means a culture of service, professionalism, and efficiency that puts the people of Hamilton County first.

I take pride in thinking outside the box and creating solutions that make county services more accessible. Most recently, we partnered with Food City to install tag renewal kiosks throughout the county, giving citizens another convenient option to get their tag decal stickers outside of normal business hours. We also partner with the Department of Safety to provide driver’s license services and with the City of Chattanooga by selling city stickers to motorists. We are currently assisting the City with their free parking pilot program for residents who purchase a city sticker.

I will also continue to partner with tractor-trailer fleet companies to generate significant revenue for both the county and the state. Hamilton County leads in taking on these large-scale fleet projects, and these partnerships have already produced millions of dollars in revenue for the state and county. This kind of innovative thinking and collaboration is exactly what I will continue to bring as your next County Clerk.

These efforts reflect my ongoing mindset of building partnerships that benefit the public and always doing what is best for the citizens of Hamilton County.

Education and Training

I am a State Certified Public Administrator and a Certified County Finance Officer. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Administration from Bryan College and an Associate of Science in Accounting from Chattanooga State Community College. I am also a proud graduate of the Tennessee Leadership NEXT program, Class XI.

Community Commitment

Beyond my professional work, I am deeply committed to giving back to our community. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Chattanooga Federal Employees Credit Union, chair the Advisory Board for the Family Justice Center, and also served as an advisor to the board of Cempa Community Care. I have also volunteered with tnAchieves to mentor students, helping prepare high school students for academic and career success.

My Roots

Most importantly, Hamilton County has been my home for more than two decades. I live on Signal Mountain with my husband, our daughter, and two dogs. I lead by doing, not by watching. Just as I work with my staff every day, I will work with the people of Hamilton County to deliver results that matter

My goal is simple: to put my experience, results, and leadership to work for you and to keep the Clerk’s Office running with the professionalism, accountability, and service Hamilton County citizens deserve.
